Travel Requirement: 10–12 days/month (project-based)
Role Overview :
We’re seeking a seasoned Fleet Engine Specialist Lead to ensure optimal performance of high-power engines used in our railway maintenance machinery. This role demands hands-on technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to minimising machine downtime across multiple national projects, including Indian Railways and metro systems like DMRC and BMRCL.
Qualifications :
Candidates must possess one of the following:
B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
M.Tech / M.E. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
MBA in Strategic or Operations Management,
Experience :
Minimum 5 years working with heavy-duty engines such as QST Cummins and QSX Series,
Prior leadership experience managing a technical team of 4–5 engineers,
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee smooth engine operations across the machine fleet for project success,
Troubleshoot and repair engine issues both remotely and on-site,
Conduct audits, inspections, and diagnostics on engine systems,
Coordinate with OEMs, internal teams, and customers for repairs and part sourcing,
Create technical documentation, training modules, and incident reports,
Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules,
Train engineering teams on handling engine failures,
Maintain checklists for periodic engine inspections,
Lead on-ground response for breakdowns and troubleshooting,
Schedule phased engine overhauls and analyse performance data,
Provide performance feedback and guidance to field personnel,
Implement asset management software to improve data tracking and maintenance transparency,
Desired Candidate Profile :
Age: 30–35 years,
Fluent in English and Hindi, both verbal and written,
Proficient in MS Office Suite and related software,
Strong fault analysis skills and ability to read engineering design drawings,
Demonstrated leadership, customer focus, and conflict resolution abilities,
Skilled in high-pressure and multi-project environments,
Strategic thinker with a hands-on, field-first mentality,
